I have to take my pan off again to change out that damn solenoid pack. I just dropped it 2 weeks ago

Broke two of the sway bar axle bolts trying to replace the bushings today. Sigh.

Poor guy, even getting himself into trouble with the wife over getting into trouble with the internet

I don't know why he got banned, Mrs. wjidaho, but I'm sure it wasn't his fault! Please go easy on him!

In all seriousness, I hope you guys can figure out what happened. Did he post something in one of the Jeep recall threads?

I think I got my first JEEP WAVE today! It was so unexpected, I didn't even know what the heck the guy was doing at first. I just stared, confused lol! I guess I'm finally (barely) cool enough for other Jeeps to pay attention to me now. If you have a JK, you can probably get Jeep waves just by doing one or two cheap little mods, or adding some AT/MT tires. For me, it took about $2500 worth of parts just to get my first wave lol

Guess you haven't done much to the axles to hang with the other jeeps running 35" tires. Dang these wjs are way more expensive than xjs to get ready to wheel. I haven't gotten a jeep wave in the wj to date. I have 32" moabs the same as a rubicon stock. I get waves all the time in my bastardized yj though.

I hadn't noticed. I read his comments, and none of them seemed to be worthy of being kicked off. Perhaps it may have been a mistake by the moderators. Last I heard, he had an over-heated WJ from towing.

This is a reply from a mod in a thread his wife started.

Nope, nothing to the axles. I have Quadra Drive/Vari-Lok and I'm not even sure I can re-gear with those? But as far as lockers, the Vari-Lok LSD is under-rated, in my opinion. Seems to work really well and my Limited is a beauty queen at this point - everything I attempt with it, it does no problem because I'm not pushing it very hard. I don't drive it like a *****, but it's pretty capable and easily does anything I really want it to. I baby it a bit, though. It was my mom's originally, and I picked it out for her off the showroom floor in 03, then finally got to buy it from her a few years ago when she got a WK2. So it's pretty special to me. I wheel it, but it's mostly just a sexy DD.

I get enough traction with the Vari-loks and semi-aggressive Duratracs and I don't feel the need to re-gear with the V8 and 32" tires... at least not for power reasons. I have moab wheels, too, and the C load Duratracs are fairly light, and I honestly didn't notice much loss in torque, if any at all. But I'd consider re-gearing just for fuel economy. Not really worth it with 32's, though. I only lost 1 or 2 MPG, I think. I'd actually consider a re-gearing that sacrificed some power for the sake of fuel economy, though!

But yeah, the WJ cost me WAY more to get off-road worthy than my XJ did. It will kick the crap out of my old XJ now, though! I love it, but it never ends. I think I want some wheel spacers to bring those Moabs out a little bit and I'm getting ready to do my first projector headlight retrofit in some black Laredo lights.

Oh! And on top of the Jeep wave, I had a guy in a lifted YJ actually stop and talk to me when he saw me walking out to the WJ after work yesterday! I was super impressed with it because you never see lifted WJ's. That was a good feeling - it's only been lifted two days!
