Put on the Guard Dogs 265/70/17 E, tallest 265's I have seen. Put almost 400 miles on them as soon as they were put on.

Re wired my after market yellow fog lights so that when I turn them on the factory ones turn off . That way I don't have more than four forward facing lights and I stay nice and legal.

Spent the day working on my wife's Pontiac G6 and my WJ. Her car got a new oil filter adapter seal (what a strange thing to be leaking, right?) and a new serpentine belt. I kinda like driving her car sometimes... I almost forget what it's like to drive something that isn't slow.

Then I got to working on the WJ.... I turned these 200k+ stock shocks into nice purty new Monroe Reflexes. The drive home was a nice test for the new shocks and they are AWESOME. Exactly the ride I was looking for. Nice fast rebound but smooth.

I also dropped the tranny pan and did a new filter and refilled with Valvoline ATF+4. Nothing serious. I thought about doing the bands but didn't have specs or a torque wrench handy. Someday down the road, maybe.

What else... Oh yeah, I took the dumb horribly designed spectre "cold air" (more like hot air) intake off and put the stock system back on with a Wix filter. Much better. I like it quieter and I don't think that other one gave it a performance boost of any kind, not to mention, again, it's terrible design.

I need to find a gas tank pan. Mine is very rusty (the only rusty thing on my whole Jeep, strangely enough). I'll have to check around.

4300 in my head lights and factory fog lights. I'm not sure what brand they were like sixty bucks for all four off eBay.

Hello, my name's John and I'm a Jeepaholic...

This is my second thread to comment on since joining yesterday 03/02; I just wanted to pop in and let you know my activities involving a certain 2002 WJ VIN J of mine (I submitted a detailed synopsis of my Jeep story in my profile, so I won't go on about it here.)

Today I spent about 4 hours preparing my HO for removal, just a little more and it'll be ready. I removed the accessible bellhousing and engine mount bolts and starter within about 30 minutes. I intend to have the crank girdle off before the hoist removal to inspect the cylinder bores and crankshaft, and perhaps make the job (I'm doing this alone) a little easier, so I loosened all of the mounting bolts until being bathed in dripping oil; I left it to finish weeping (no, not me, the oil.)

I wanted to do more so I carefully removed the left head bolts in 4 stages, slipped the head enough out of the way so I could remove the intake manifold, then removed the head, and put the bolts away in their respective order. This head didn't have any dropped seats and looked ok for 98k miles, hopefully it can be rebuilt but I'm prepared for the worst. I took a few pictures to show my progress. The fourth and fifth show the rockerless valve stem jutting out and the thrown roller rocker above #8 cylinder, the last one shows the scraped up #8 rocker, I'm not sure yet whether it's the intake or exhaust. We shall see.
