Well had the wife hold up one side an I mounted up the other. It can be a pain to line up the white clip for it tho.

Nope, first time. Got it done today. It was pretty simple. Getting the bolts to thread when I put it back on was a pain. But they eventually all lined up.

Replaced the starter on the 4.7. Wasnt too hard, its tight in there but luckily the bolts arent too tough to get off. I read a lot of people that have trouble getting the starter actually out, and when I was doing it today I had the same problem. So I jacked up the passenger side of the axle, and it slide straight out over the cat.

Got the drive shaft CV joints replaced and the drive shaft back on. Fortunately, I could do the first part indoors. Nothing like laying on ice/snow.

The bolts in the photos are only to keep the caps lined up temporarily.

Still have my 93 Explorer 4x4 and so very glad that with this purchase i could find as good of a knowledge base that I have enjoyed with the explorerforum site.

Really liking the purchase so far. Except that a chain smoker owned it before me.
Hey man any problems with shifting from full time 4wd into par time 4wd and then back into 2wd.

Reverse when switching to 2Wd. Part time is not to be used on anything but mud or deep snow

I did the exact same thing yesterday afternoon, but I was alone and wasnt able to get the bumper balanced to reinstall, so I just put the grill back on, cleaned up the newly exposed frame, and am rocking a mean looking and somewhat naked front end for now haha

You either need a plastic rivet gun or go get new trim clips from auto store and improvise OR drill a small second hole right next each one in the wheelwell liner and use zipties. The last option works quite well and is the cheapest/easiest.

That's what I figured. I'm going to install my tow hooks tomorrow after work.
