I live in DC so not sure about all that.

My primary objective was to minimize the wallowy ride that my WJ currently has.

I'm not a lift/crawling sort of Jeep driver.

Be very certain of this! There are a lot out there who don't know what the hell they are talking about when it comes to the NV-247, and just say "ahhhh, just put some ATF+4 in there, that's what I always used in my jeeps"...its easy enough to check, just look on your shifter bezel, right in front of the cupholders it will tell you what you have.

WJ NP-247 and Varilok axle oil change.

My 2004 4.7 WJ with Quadra-Drive II transfer case and varilok axles has been giving me problems.

I was having the problem for a while that the Jeep would "bind" when making any type of tight turn at slow speeds (such as when pulling into a parking spot). I also swear the WJ had resistance when coasting down a hill or even getting started from a flat-road stop. In addition, the fuel mileage hasn't been up to par. I've been thinking my t-case was bad. I discussed this with my mechanic/brother-in-law who told me that I probably just need to change the oil in the t-case and axles.

So, Today (two days ago) I changed the NP-247 oil with OEM oil and the front and rear varilok axles with Redline synthetic oil and friction additive. BINDING is GONE! The Jeep now appears to roll more smoothly and I can turn sharp without feeling resistance/binding in the drivetrain!

I've had the same feeling when I do the slow turns in either direction. It feels like it's binding. I already replaced the fluid in my t-case in october, but it looks like it's time for the diffs. I hope it works.

Haha I can't flame you. I just put one in the other day myself lol.

Where did you chose to mount your speaker? I managed to get mine behind the grill with some persuasion.

Oh, and on topic, gave her an oil change and changed my fuel filter finally man did some nasty **** come out of there.

I guess theres hope for me when I do my lift then lol...

After my final I'm going to go check all fluids and tire pressures on my Jeep for the drive tomorrow and if I'm bored I might consider doing the quad tail mod. Seems like a simple and fast safety mod I can appreciate.
