So any one know if the odo still keeps track of miles if it's being towed?

I think we all just need a beer. :cheers2: (courtesy of ChrisHager)

That's what I thought.

Looking at this 04 overland w/ rb1 and front tow hitch and rear.

Grinds while turning left. The front left tire is low so I'm thinking that's it.

The rb1 doesn't turn on with "Jeep" only plays radio and none of the buttons work. Then all the sudden it turns on.

It has all the skids. no blend door issues. V8 HO with 105k. It even has the little factory rear spoiler which I have never seen. I offered $7500 and he said no way. But we will barter more.

In good condition I'd say your offer is DEFINITELY fair. This guy is on something especially with the "grinding noise". To most people uneducated about cars that should be a huge knock from the price. If its not the tire its probably one of the wheel bearings or axle shafts, even replacing both would be about $250 in parts but its worth a lot more than that in price negotiation. That RB1 sounds like its got corrupted firmware... if you can get your hands on an updated map disc flashing it with new firmware MIGHT fix it, or it might be on its way out. Regardless those are about $300ish in good working order off ebay with the accessories, which you don't really need so you might be able to snag one for $250. That rear spoiler is a Mopar option when I read "spoiler" I was like Oh great this is going to look like crap but I scrolled down to the pics and its actually not half bad. I wouldn't rock it myself but its really not something I'd say looks bad. Granted, I'm no expert on overlands but it looks like this one is pretty solid with a couple little problems you can DIY and get her back in shape and come out ahead.

PS probably too soon but if you get it and decide the RB1 is a lost cause and go aftermarket, let me know, I'd be willing to toss you a couple bucks for the antenna (yes I know, shameful scrounging for parts, I'm sorry). I got one from ebay from China but I know its not going to work the same.

How much for one of those 242 bezels?

I know I've been posting off topic (i did srive my jeep tho!) but I don't have a build thread and don't want to create a buyers thread.

Last one I looked at wanted $7700 special
Edition w/ 110k cloth seats, qt, 4.0 hazed headlights, the drivers fog light was cracked and filled halfway with water, mismatched tires

I offered 5 grand, because after the v8 HO there is no way I want another 4.0 unless its cheap and the overland was tits, but 5,000 I could throw another couple grand in upgrades.

I'm leaning towards Overland

You will definitely enjoy all the features of the Overland...especially the Quadra-drive system (if maintained properly). The 4.7HO is tons of fun and is without a doubt a contender with a WK Hemi. The Overland's interior is a nice place to be too. You offered a fair price for the amount of miles plus all the known problems. I've had 2 Overlands myself and they are definitely an awesome combination of on road luxury/performance and off road capability.

You know what though, I JUST LOVE that laredo grille. With the color matched bumpers it looks amazing. Overland with that grille... amazing

Completed the intake/exhaust gasket and valve cover gasket job today.

image-3445347758.jpg

image-4186143717.jpg

Cranked it all up to a nice smooth idle with no leaking intake vacuum whistle. As the motor warmed up the radiator sprung a leak. I can't catch a break with this thing lately.
