Yes, the entire dash has to come out of the vehicle, and I replaced the a/c evap and fixed the blen door issue while I was in there. After that I drank heavily and sobbed in my pillow

LOL... it wasn't a hard job, just required a lot of time and lots of attention to detail.

BTW, I have been there, done that

Before my trip to Mojave I changed the oil and flushed and refilled the coolant, replaced top radiator hose (bulging) and it ran like a top the entire 200 mile trip through high desert and mountain passes, temps got as low as 17 and the needle just sat at 195 even on several long 3rd gear hill climbs at near 3000 RPM (used to climb to 210) - actually seemed to drop a couple degrees on two hill climbs - it is original water pump so impeller might be wasting away.

Only new issue is fuel mileage is down again and I believe I am due/overdue for plugs, so expect to replace them this weekend when back in San Diego.

4 years and 60,000 miles later (~165K on the clock) I still love this darn thing - nothing compares.

Should start a Blend door club for those who have ripped into the dash, lmao.
