Well it's been a while since I have been on the forums, but I got bit by the bug again after my 247 crapped. Removed it and the rpezza drive shaft today. 242HD goes in tomorrow. It'll be a few days for the front shaft. I don't have a pinion yoke yet.

Wj rear pinion seal

What a fight. Pulled driveshaft, marked everything and tried to remove the pinion nut. Rattled on it with good impact wrench- no go. Used breaker bar with floor jack lifting the end- no go. Soaked it with penetrating oil for a couple hours and raised air pressure to 135 to rattle on it and it finally came off. Old seal was a pain but came out, new seal was a pain but went in. I wasn't able to tighten the nut back to the same place it was but it's finally back together.
Next project is the axle seal but my slide hammer grew wings so I have to find that before I start that one. Sure is harder to work on than my old XJ.

You got a spare rim for the jeep? Use that as a slide hammer. Just have your lug nuts on loose where the rim can slide lol worked for me after I lost my slide hammer. I was careful though so it didn't booger up the threads.

Let me guess I6 .. Sounds like my last 2 I6 motors in my jeep

Piston skirt broke and eventually cause the piston to grenade

If its a v8 then I would guess cam journal in the heads, had a ford 4.7 sound like that when it went
