I didn't realize that the people in the video were the same as the people who posted video to this forum. My bad.... I am not trying to flame anyone as in my younger days I can just about guarantee that I broke every safety rule there is in wheel-n, probably broke them several times. What is worse, I learned to wheel from people who didn't even know there were safety rules to follow and I was too stupid to know that the people teaching me were idiots.

I agree this wasn't much of a stuck, and wasn't much of an issue. However, for future use, you will use whatever you have on hand. Sell the tow strap with metal hooks to an ATV buddy and get you a strap with loops, this way, you will have a tow strap that is safe for minor or major pulls. No one has said this, and again, it probably isn't an issue with this pull, but pulling using your reverse gear is hard on your transmission. Learn from someone who knows what they are doing, then try to be as safe as possible on each vehicle recovery as stuff goes wrong, people get hurt, even when everything is done the in the safest manner possible.

its just wearing out i guess, not to good with transmissions yet. i took it to the shop today to get it serviced because i don't trust myself adjusting the bands on it and they said when they dropped the pan there was ALOT of material in the bottom. it drives ok, but takes forever to downshift when you gun it. towed a 12ft trailer empty 2 weeks ago about 20 miles home and it was really bad, the whole reason i took it to the shop

the dub has about 143,000 on it

Last night I welded up my driver seat brackets. Around noon I noticed my seat broke near the front of the seat, so thought some JB weld would do the trick...FFW to Midnight, JB weld didn't hold worth a darn, so I took the drivers seat out of the jeep. Managed to get the seat off the rail and noticed that not only did I have a busted frame rail, but the seat frame mounting metal was broken. Well after cleaning up the JB weld with the dremel, I prepped the area and put the old Lincoln welder to use. Didn't start anything on fire in the seat, only cursed a few times at the cheap stamped metal on the seat, and by 3 am everything is back together. My 60 year old dad was helping me keep the coffee warm and managed to get the shop light in my eyes more then on the project, but it turned out to be a good evening.
