still need to wire power up
the computer is a xplore technologies iX104C4

I got the computer off eBay for 350 used it is a 1.2 duel core with 2 gigs of ram 120 gig sata hard drive Bluetooth finger print reader has a tri-band wifi card

mine is mainly for running better GPS software than i can do with a small handheld (and having more screen to see it). i run Delorme Topo mainly, which also lets you download satellite imagery as well as the topo and routeable street maps.

for preparedness, i have the full FSM in PDF format, and the computer is hooked to the OBDII system to pull diagnostic info.

one day the plan is to use it also for all the entertainment and remove the factory head unit. i'd also like to tie it into the HAM radio for APRS (it can plot on a map where anyone else using HAM with APRS is when they transmit).

all the above is handy when you're on a long expedition style trip, but it really boils down to being a gadget geek
