With minimal trimming 245/70/17 i believe. I think thats also the biggest you can fit in the spare well. With trimming front fascia you can go slightly higher but no wheeling. Some people will say otherwise saying they can fit 245/75/17 with no lift and no trimming but that is off their word and doesnt seem to be accurate in every case.. Dunno the cause. Cheap way to fit bigger tires is a BB. $80 ish and you can fit bigger and it looks better IMO.

I plan on a 4in coming up.. Just buying this jeep and all 4 are like 10 percent... No good...lol... And I can get used set 5-6 10ths for 80 bucks here....so I figured I would look and see what size.. Lol...

A 245/70/17 is 30.50 round.. That's it right there... The 245/75/17 is 31.50.. No way under a factory lift..

Agree, 30s are as big as you can go, plus as someone already pointed out you can't fit a spare over 30.6 inches in the well.

spares in spare tire wells are over rated!

Had a ZJ before the WJ... having the spare in the cargo compartment was a giant PITA. Half the time I didn't even carry it because it took up too much of the cargo room. So yes, having the spare in the spare well is important for some.

X2. A big mud tire was always in the way in my XJ. It's nice to have it protected from the elements too, instead of it being underneath the vehicle like my old S-10. Once the dub is less of a daily driver i'll go up in tire size, regear the axles and build a swing out tire carrier or a hitch mounted one.
