weird headlight switch and dash light

hey all

i have a question regarding an odd switch on my headlight stalk.

once you turn parks on, fog lights become switchable. turn them on and then role the end of the stalk one more click and i get an orange dash illumination but no discernible feature happens with the lighting

can anyone shed some light on this? i want to know cause i want to use it for a switch to turn on my auxilliary 55w HIDs in the housings, which after my Bi-xenon retrofit, will only be used offroad and i dont want coming on with just high beams.

IIRC, My switch turns on park, pulls out, to turn on fogs, one more click turns on headlights, and one more puts it in auto.
That's it. You must have a different switch, being in Australia.

You don't say which WJ you have, but on mine that switch position puts the rear fog lights on, the orange dash light indicating they're on.

If at first you don't succeed, find somebody who knows what he's doing.

Yea I'd say if its an export model WJ (WG in that case) it'd be rear fog lights. Have someone stand out back and take a look for you.

2 days after OP. Is it just me or is it considered polite protocol to at least acknowledge replies to your posts and maybe a thank you?

Put some flush-mount LED pods back there, or, if there is a place to put them.
