WARNING signs for our 02-04 WJ Jeeps

How about the owners of WJ Jeeps putting a sign in their back windows warning that Chrysler refused to fix the gas tank defect.

This might embarrass them into reconsidering their decision to exclude our Jeeps.

I thought about putting a sticker in the window saying to keep back, rolling firebomb. I put a chive sticker on instead though.

Which defect is this? As built to the safety specs of the time, they are perfectly safe and met every standard required.

If you are that concerned, sell it and buy a tank.

It's like worrying about being hit and killed by a meteor.... I mean really?

They built millions of trucks over the years, with the gas tank behind the seat, inside the cab. And you still have better odds of that meteorite.

I despise lemons in general.

In all fairness I like my WJ, even if it is a fiery death trap.

You could always sell it, but then I suppose you would just ***** about the depreciation value.

Also, '99-'01's are involved in this as well.

Very apt choice in user name, too lazy to do anything about it (ie, sell it), but not lazy enough to make inane posts online about it.

It's still better than a Ford Pinto, the original fire bomb

I too am getting sick of the exploding-gas-tank threads. I simply put it this way;

Assuming I am going to get rear ended by a semi-truck traveling at a high rate of speed would I rather:
A: Be driving a Smart Car
B: Be driving my 2004 WJ

...I am going with B.

In not worried at all about it....nothing would happen to my fuel if I was rear ended (!) and the tank ruptured....in fact nothing would happen if you opened the filler and dropped a lit match in......its a nice safe diesel you see!
Time for the mods to delete any further threads on the topic I think.

Well if people do not want their *** end exploding, then they should go buy a 70's era chevy truck, with its side mounted gas tank.

I was rear ended by a taxi cab pretty hard.nothing happened to me or my jeep. My trailer hitch and gas tank skid plate sure demolished the front of that crown vic. Even without the trailer hitch I still think the grand Cherokee is the safest vehicle I have owned. The recall is just government crap.
