I ask because soon I'm going to be buying a good deal of thick wiring for both an inverter and winch, so if I'm doing it in one place, I might as well do it all, just curious if it makes a difference.
It helps charge the battery faster because you are basically doubling the current. If you start having problems with your lights dimming or battery performance, this is a nice cheap
upgrade the the charging system. I'm pretty sure you need an inline fuse on the positive wire.

Best bet is to get a HO alternator, but those arnt cheap IMO I wouldn't worry about it unless you have problems with lights dimming or. Outage problems

Not doubling the current....won't affect the current at all.....but will greatly reduce the resistance in the wire so less of that current is lost as heat. Imo the standard wires are more than up to the job so you prob won't notice any difference unless you have really heavy current loads like powerful lights or sound system.

Exactly. Less resistance = more current

Only if you have a demand for more power than the current wire can supply...if you don't, and most won't, then bigger wires will not increase current.

If you use acetone you can take the paint off only if you do it within a few hours. It will probably etch the plastic though. Once it has set for a day or two it's done lol
