Honestly, you're asking alot of a salvage yard to take pictures.

I know but it's a big purchase. I practically work 7 days a week and it's hard to get out to places like this. Some places don't even know that there are 2 versions of the transfer case.

Does anyone have a write up on wiring the part time light in the dash?

Is the 2.25" input shaft part of the transfer case? None of these places want to take a picture to prove it's the right part though.
I can guess why the guy at lqk hung up on you. Here is where you ask questions related to that the parts are.

you tell the salvage yard what you want and ask about condition, not of it will fit in such and such a vehicle.

I only asked him if it was the right part. I picked up a NP242HD today anyway. I ordered the wiring. I have a drive shaft coming. I just need the bezel and a write up for the wire. I found a good deal on the transfer case. $200 for one with 68,000 miles on it.

You don't need a write-up for the wire. You plug it into the case, and the other end into the plug that is hanging towards the top on the passenger side of the rear of the tranny. It's there, just get your tiny little hand up there and find it.

I'm 6'6" so I have huge hands. I might need to find a helper with small hands. So your saying there will be another plug just sitting there ready to have this plugged into it? This Jeep has been through a lot. I hope the plug still works.

Yep, thats it. No matter what your WJ went through, it should be there.

You can, but why would you want/need to?

The bezel is part of it and I want it to match my new transfer case.

So why not just swap the bezel? It'll be a hell of a lot cheaper. I got one bezel for $6 and the other for free, both from junkyards.

I went to the dealership to price out a bezel and they said that you can only get it with the whole assembly. So I figured it wasn't doable. That makes me a lot happier knowing all I need is the bezel.

Yeah, the stealership will only sell it as a unit, but you can go to any you pull it yard and remove just the bezel. Take some heat with you to heat up the shifters a bit. Those just pull straight up, but can be very stubborn. On yours, snip the overdrive wire before pulling, then just splice them back together when youre done.
