Will a 2wd trans out of a 98 grand cherokee work in a 02 grand cherokee?

I think the only thing you'll have problems with is the overdrive or the electronics...can't remember which (or both!). Why not convert to 4wd?

According to the Hollander manual, 98 will only fit 98. Its an oddball year. 99-04 will fit.

you can only use one from a WJ because you will not get overdrive if you use one from a ZJ
