Track Bar Bushing Replacement

Is it not possible to replace just the track bar bushing?

Got a little play in the upper bushing on the frame side.

I found a fit on Morris 4x4 when I did mine a little over a year ago, give them a call.

The simple answer is no, if you want to replace it with another Clevite bonded rubber bushing. The XJ, TJ croud uses a 10mm bolt bushing, and the JK folks use a 14mm bolt bushing. Ours are 12mm bolt and no one makes a replacement bushing. All three bushings share the same barrell diameter and sleeve width, so if you want, you can pick up a track bar bushing for a JK, install it in your upper bushing (frame-side) hole of the track bar and then drill out your upper mount for a 14mm (9/16") bolt that can be torqued a lot tighter than the 12 mm. I did this on my JKS bar since I got tired of the JKS bushings and the KOR cutting board plastic ones allowed no forward to rear movement as the axle cycled up and down.

NCP 2749387 This is the Napa bushing.

I may try the JK bushing idea. Since I may have a JK bushing already. I know I have the 14mm bolts here from when I swapped mine out of my JK

I do not need to spend a lot on the bushing. I could replace the track bar cheaper than some of the "replacement bushings" I have seen.

thanks for the heads up on the JK bushing.

This WJ is going to be 100% mall crawler and stock. so budget is key to keeping this thing on track.

Yup,
searching that bushing it looks like it is a little under 15 bucks. Not bad.

sure is.

Moog # is K700208 and for under $8 at rockauto.com, but with shipping NAPA is cheaper. unless buying more stuff from RA

I just tried the Moog# K200708 in my JKS track bar for my 2000 WJ and it doesn't fit. The moog bushing measures 1.45" in diameter and the ID of the JKS track bar bushing hole is 1.50" The moog rubber bushing is much stiffer than the JKS poly so I would like to use one like it, but it will need a sleeve to fit. Is the NAPA NCP 2749387 JK bushing a press fit in the WJ JKS track bar? TIA

The napa bushing was a press fit into my JKS trackbar. Worked like a charm,

NAPA now sells a replacement track bar bushings for the stock bar. It is NCP 2749386. I have not tried it and only know of one other person on here who has bought it, but not sure if he has installed it yet or not. It is their Chassis line, which is the higher end stuff if I am not mistaken, but for $13.50, its cheap.

Just a heads up, the part numbers are only 1 digit off between this and the one used above for the JKS bar. So I would double check the size before pulling everything off, just in case somebody messed up and it does not fit WJs.
