I recently picked up my 04 WJ Limited w/ Qudra-Trac II and I am loving it. Put a 2" BB lift on it to give it a little better stance and found out it has the tow prep package so there are a few things I am looking for.
I am looking for a tow hitch and want to find one that will fit in the cut-out in the rear bumper (OEM style). So the question is where should I be looking in order to ensure I get what I am looking for? Any particular part numbers etc?
I come from a world of 500+whp turbocharged cars so this 4x4 biz is new to me and its great :cheers2:
junkyard. I got mine out of a junkyard for $75, and they pulled it off for me. Picked up some new bolts, and the fascia piece for the bumper. Took maybe 2 hours to install. Hardest part of it is getting the rear bumper off, and that isn't really that hard either.
like everyone else said, junkyards would most likely have it once you get it you will need to cut a hole in your rear bumper to fit it (theres a cut out on some years i belive to guide you) and after that you gotta go to the dealership and buy the bezel for the hole you just cut out or leave it how it is but most people prefer the clean look of having a bezel on it
Thanks guys. Well it already has the cut out in the bumper, and i pulled the rear side panel to make sure it has the green connector for the harness. So from here ill just keep checking craigslist and try to hit a couple pick a parts here locally.
In comparison i would imagine it sits more flush to the body? Reason im asking is there was a guy on craigslist selling one and he said it fit in the factory notch in the bumper but in the pics it did not look like it would.
got mine from auto zone it came with the templet to cut the rear bumper. and came with the cover peace to.
