Tire fitment?

So at the moment my 04 Limited WJ is on 16x8 inch cragers and im looking to sell these and get some new rims soon, i was considering some KMC Rockster rims, but would a 20x10 inch rim with a factory height tire fit in the front wells when turning or with any suspension articulation? The WJ is at factory height, just wondering before i run into problems down the road. Thanks

20x10 is a no go? I was also looking at a set of 20x9 SRT8 rims, more realistic maybe?

The stock wheels are 7.5" so you'll need another 1.5" width to have a tire that fits that well. It sounds like other guys have run 265 and 275 wide tires with the correct sidewall height to be at stock diameter and were successful, but they may have had to do some trimming. You'll likely need spacers to even the front/rear out if nothing else. IIRC, the SRT8 rims have 50mm rear offset and only ~35mm front offset.

And would 20x10s work in rear with 20x9s up front?

Like anything, with enough modification, you could make anything fit. My guess is you'll need some spacers to bring the wheels out far enough to clear the suspension, but that will also increase the travel distance of the front wheels in turns, causing rubbing issues. The rears will experience the same thing with the body when the suspension is flexed. I'm assuming this Jeep will only ever be seeing road duty, so that might not be such an issue, but it's something to be aware of. Not having done this myself, I can't say anything for certain, but I came across a few guys running 265 and 275mm wide tires on stock suspension, but they didn't mention whether or not there was trimming involved. As far as tire to wheel width, you would probably be okay with a 265 on the 9" and a 275 on the 10'.

SRT wheels on a WJ (not mine):

I have read on the forum somewhere(can't seem to find it), that the 20x9 SRT wheels will fit on all 4 corners. My best guess would be with a 255 or 265 tire of stock height. I personally had 275/60-17 on my overland when I bought it and only experienced rubbing on the rear shocks when offroad due to the width. It was a really tight fit.

Mine with 275/60-17:

I think i might like the SRT8 styled Rims a little more, i might try 20x10 with spacers if needed
