Tail light problems

So I backed into a trailer and broke my left tail light, everything still worked fine but for some reason the light was much brighter then the right, i assumed this was because some of the lens was now tape so it just appeared brighter, and now it stopped showing at all, it only turns on when brakes are applied, when lights are on and right tail light is on the left will be off. I read that it could be the socket, I have already ordered a new taillight and all new sockets. someone please tell me that will fix my problem.

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, how do you have time to do it over.

I had a taillight that was dimmer then the other one changed bulbs, sockets nothing worked.
Bought a new taillight assembly and it fixed all the issues so there is a good chance it will cure your problems.

Okay I hope it does , I have no idea what else it could possibly be , everything i read pointed to the light assembly itself or the sockets
