Stroker # 2 - Finally Going back in!!
Well some may have followed my threads from early in the year when I built the first stroker. Titan engine based 4.7 forged pistons, new head, scat crank,comp cam and upgraded rod bolts. Well thanks to the guys at Titan setting the seat pressures too high on the valves I lost the cam after only 2k miles and trashed the bearings,bores, oil pump etc.
Since I had to rebuild it again, rehone the block, polish the crank etc and get the valves properly setup figured I might as well build it even more than the original budget version. So after a chat with Zach Steele at 505 performance here is where I landed.
JE forged pistons
4340 Forged I Beam rods
Lunati custom grind .500/.525 lift with 230/246 duration@.050 solid flat tappet cam. I had the cam sent off an nitrided.
ARP everything
MLS head gasket
Fully ported head with LS 2.02 valves.
Melling HV pump new screen
505 Perf Roller rockers
Trick Flow pushrods, these are massive rods and stout BBC style.
Clevite 77 bearings
505 Perf setup the head to match the cam exactly to spec.
Fully spin balanced everything
Stud Girdle
Full Roller Timing Set from Cloyes
Ported TB
Banks Headers
#27 Injectors
Custom PCM reflash/tune to match it all
AEM Air Fuel meter/HUEGO Controller
Built the engine, have it bolted in plans are to finish all the accessories and fire it up either tonight or tomorrow for its break-in.

I put WAY too much money and time into this hopefully it holds up this time and delivers some good power numbers.
Once broken in and tuned I plan to find a local chassis dyno to run it up on, maybe a month or two before I get to that point but I will post the numbers.

Despite being a v8 guy that is one awesome 6! I would love to see the numbers a built stroked and all bolt ons will do.

Engines finally in and driven 30 miles. Here is a quick vid of it idling in the dark parking garage after I arrived at the office this morning. Still needs the PCM reflashed etc, but overall runs really strong.

505 Performance, SCT I believe is the unit, its shipping out and should arrive this week so I will post it up once I know how it works out.
My cam is fairly healthy for an Automatic, 284 duration .500/.525 lift solid flat tappet. Still has good vacuum and a shimmy in the idle, idles around 640-670. The low vac signal wreaks havoc with the fuel curves so that all must be mapped back out.

ok cool be interested in seeing how it turns out.. i have the advantage software for the SCT for mopars but i let it expire because they dont offer a lot of support for the mopar products since they are no longer doin any R&D for dodge/chrysler vehicles... guess they make to much money of ford to mess with much else
also what are your thoughts on the Banks header?
and curious about the hesco aluminum head? lol i know you didnt go that route but wondering if you ever looked into it

The Hesco head I am not certain is worth the enormous expense, the issue is valve shrouding you can only get so much based on the bore diameter. The builders I have talked with all said that the weight savings would be about the best part of it that and perhaps some reduction in detonation tendancy due to the heat dissipation properties of the aluminum. For that money I had my head built and ported with big valves and put the rest into the bottom end being fully forged in preparation for the turbocharger. Thats when this will become really fun. I can say that with the Lunati solid cam and the head porting done by 505 this engine just pulls harder the farther it revs. I barely have 100 miles on it, so I havent broke 4800 yet, but at 4800 its smooth as glass and zips up there like it used to rev to 2000. No longer does it feel reluctant to rev it WANTS to go. It should pull up near 6800 with the cam I have. Ill see after the tune is squared away, 1 oil change and a quick lash check on the valves.Will that advantage software allow me to tune the tuner?
