My 4.7 v8 103000 miles crapped out on me last week. 2 dead cylinders an threw a code for cam timing. What causes it! I've done a lot of research not many answers I'm just scared the engine will need rebuilt. Which I don't have the money for especially on a 4.7 motor so what other motors could you cram in there that are cheaper besides a 4.0 i6 trans and all if needed. Hoping for the best still but we will see!
No it's a friends shop an hes pulling the front off Tomorow to see. I just don't understand what makes it do that all of a sudden. It was running fine then just started shaking and crapped out! No loss I oil pressure tho so that can be a good thing.
Think I suggested in your other thread, pull the valve covers and see the valves. If the valves are shot, then no need to start pulling the front cover is there?
