steering moans when turning

I have a 99 JCGL, 4.0L.
Recently, the steering moans, almost like a belt is sqeaking or a tire is rubbing when I turn left---not so bad when I turn right, then again, maybe its not so loud bc I'm so far away from the passenger side wheel. Any ideas? There are no mods to the jeep (yet) so it can't be a sizing issue.

Start off by checking the fluid level.

I'm not sure, but may be these TSBs are applicable for your case.

TSB # 1900203 [POWER STEERING MOAN OR WHINE-LIKE SOUND WHEN TURNING]
TSB # 1900301a [HONK-LIKE SOUND WHEN PERFORMING RIGHT TURNS]

I am having a similar problem with my 2000 GC Limited. When turning (at a slow very slow speed) full lock either left or right, going foward or reverse, I get a vibration thru the steering wheel like the tires are rubbing. I haven't noticed any wear on the tires and they are not oversized. It feels to me like the gears in the tranny aren't quite meshing correctly.
