Staggered alloy wheels ?

Hi
Will I damage my tranmission by running 9jx22 fronts and 10 j x22 rears (40 offset )wheels with 275 40 22 tyres on my 2003 wj overland ?
Is the 1 inch width difference enough to make much circumferance change on the tyre?
or would 9.5x20 wheels 275/45/20 tyres all round be better?

I have a superchips 3870 so can alter tyre sizes
thanks

I wouldn't think the width change would make any difference. The overall height needs to be the same though, at least that's the way it is with my selectrac. I had to get 2 new tires due to a wreck and they didn't have 30,000 miles on it like the others and it caused my transfer case to get hung up between 2wd and full time when I shifted.
