In my jeep theres a sound behind/ under the dash that sounds something like a phone vibrating or a cow lol. It happens every 12 seconds and yes i counted it out. Its generally louderwhen i'm on light throttle and when it's at idle itll knock the idle down a little when it does make the sound. wondering if i can get some input on this lol.
Also turn off the defrost. It runs the a/c system to dry the air passing through the ducts. You can also raise the hood and watch the a/c compressor engage/disengage to see if the noise starts when the compressor is on.
It's the source of the noise. The compressors are typically pretty quiet. From the cabin, I can't even hear the one on our '01 with 4.7, but my hearing sucks. If you raise the hood and watch, you can see the clutch engage and disengage on the compressor. If it's rattling loudly then you should unplug the connector to it until you get it fixed. When a compressor fails, it can contaminate the entire a/c system with metal shavings. Then it gets much more expensive to repair.
Since we can't hear it, it's hard to say for sure. Videos don't work well, as the background noises from an engine typically overwhelm the mic. You could take it and have a shop listen to it, but they are predispositioned to want to sell you something and are most likely to say yes, hoping that they can charge you a ton of money to replace it.
Well i know how to do all of tha tby myself so itll be about 2-300 in parts so i'm the mechanic in this case lol
