but why would you want a switch to turn the passenger side air bag off?

i understand them going on/off automatically like in most cars today, but i have seen when a kid sits on the seat the air bag dose not go to the on position.
it's for my kid to sit up front. do the WJ's have the airbag on/off weight sensors?

Nope that technology wasn't implemented till the wk. I'm sitting in a wk right now and it's got the airbag weight sensors.

the air bags are always on in the WJ.

i just understand the point of have a option to turn them off. is it something if you crash can save repairing that end if no one was sitting there since the bag would not deploy.

Two better reasons:
1)Small children can be injured or killed by airbag deployment. The safest place for kids is in the back, but that doesn't keep parents from having them sit up front.
2)Objects placed on passenger seat can become projectiles propelled by the airbag in the event of a crash.

Hi, sorry to interrupt.., I didnt mean to hi-jack this forum about WJ...

quick question about vari-loks...,

Is it possible that when i turn my front drive shaft (from tranfer case), there is no power transfered to both front wheels (left and right axle) because the vari-lok is bad?
like its floating... on both front wheels?
or there should at least be 1 wheel turning?

considering the design of this limited slip system, can it happen????

* hope i didnt confuse you..
thanks in advance guys....,
