You also get to see what they look like on a stock jeep, you know in case you were wondering
Can you tell me why you have to cut the cladding?

Sure. The flare mounts on the door and they molded that section to fit the door without the cladding on. I'm not a grand guy but I suspect 1 reason is there are probably different styles of cladding, 2 is it probably fits better if not going over the cladding. Cutting the cladding really wasn't too bad. I did however break two of the body clips on the back when taking them off so be careful. Feel free to ask more questions and I'll do my best to answer.

So you got a good snug fit? I think it must be hard to get a correct line in the cladding, and a smooth surface that fits with the flare.

Also, did it compromise the weather proofing of the door? I mean did it mean that you have to have some holes in the side of the door where water might leak in when crossing waterstreams?

Yeah I was actually very surprised with how well it contoured to the body. They even give you extra pieces for the rear section in case you have a limited or a Laredo just so it will fit the different body styles.

It uses screws to hold itself on so maybe if you completely submerged a section for a bit then water could slip past, however I put silicone on all the holes and the screw itself when I put them in so i don't see that happening. When you cut the rear wheel well pinch seam it does exposť the sound deadening material inside the door. What I did was put por-15 on all my cuts and the area around them, then I filled in the gap with body adhesive. Shouldn't rust now and it's sealed shut.

I have a new in box set.. planned to get the aftermarket bumper but the ones I want aren't made anymore

Not sure I like how the front flare is wider than the stock bumper so may not be using them after all.

they do look good, just got my lift on today, my dad suggested flares but i really didn't want to put out the money for them, however on my test drive today i realized that i have some trimming to do yet so the cutouts will help and after pulling down my buddy's gravel drive i realized with 3.65" of backspacing, i will never be able to keep this thing clean

Ok so 4wd has them listed as a set for $549, add to cart they drop to $479,

Or you can buy them separate in front and rear sets and after added to the cart they drop to $395,

Anyone know why they are cheaper to buy separate? Everything looks to be the same, i might have to jumper on them at $395, sure beats $549

Their page says 20% off for st patricks day ends tonight, so i think thats why they get cheaper in the cart, but i doesn't make sense why they are cheaper separate
