Smartphone mount

How has everyone mounted their smartphones? I'm torn and looking for ideas.

I used this. Mounted to the windshield. Works very nicely for what I need.

Can't mount anything to the windshield in New Jersey.

That's a great idea. I might have to do the same.

Since when? I've never heard of this. I always mount my gps to the windshield and have no problems with cops ever. A gps causes just as much distraction as a phone so this law is puzzling to me.

I don't have a photo with me, but mine is just the standard universal mount from Wal-Mart, like $9 or whatever it was.

I used just the main body phone-holding part, and with double-sided 3M tape, taped it to the left of the radio, on the radio bezel, right next to the radio. Works fine.

Good luck,
Pete

Most cops don't care, but I know you can get a ticket for it. The stupid part is that a GPS on the dash is okay, but on the windshield is not okay. Gotta love Jersey.

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone. I found the option by Proclips, at $30 for just the mount not including the actual hostler seems a little steep to me.

Just to throw another option out there I had a PanaVise mount in my former KJ. It was an excellent fit.

Check deals.woot.com every day or so. There's a smartphone window mount featured just about every week on there at least once, and that's not even including the ones that members post (the deals on the bottom of the page). I bought one on there for my mother so she could use her GPS on her phone more easily, I believe I paid 4.99 for it.
