Question Satellite Antenna Installation

Recently installed a Sirius system in my 04 WJ. After I installed the system , I noticed in very small print a special Mopar anticorrosive primer is called for to seal the exposed edges of the 3/4 inch hole added to the roof. I used regular sandable primer and light coat of touchup. Now do I replace the antenna (surely the seal will be destroyed) and sand and recoat the opening with the special primer? How do you remove the sticky pad and antenna without damaging surrounding paint? Do these antennas ever go bad? Anyone done this?
