Only thing I can think of is maybe washing your WJ more often. My olod car was like a big target for birds to leave there mark. I got lazy and never washed it and ended up paying for it with smalkl rust marks starting to appear.

Thankfully, rust is one problem I haven't had to deal with on my Jeeps (yet). I would recommend removing your door panel and using a light and mirror, take a good look on the inside of the door. If rust is breaking through the paint, it may already have a strong foothold inside. If it is small, remove the rust, prep the area, prime and paint using touch up paint. If a large area, consider buying a door from somebody parting out their Jeep.
Also, if rust is attacking your door, it almost certainly will be found elsewhere (underbody). Time for a search and destroy mission.

Along those lines, many years ago (before the internet) I used a chemical I bought from Eastwood's that converted rust to a primered metal (zinc I believe). Anyway, do a search for "rust converter" and you will find lots of links.
