with all due respect you didnt need a scanner, the WJ reads and displays its own codes with the 3 key trick

with that said, I would use a multimeter and test for continuity on the injector harness.

test things before buying parts to throw at it...

also did you read my previous post?

Did you rent a compression checker?....

I have a 2001 4.0 6 cylinder with about 140,000 miles (original owner). I get multiple misfire codes and occasional power loss when under strain (pulling a full load) or with 4 adults inside headed up an incline. Flashing check engine light (worried about catalytic converter) and gas rich smell; exhaust spits out black. I changed the condenser pack, checked vacuum lines, changed spark plugs and changed oil. Runs fine in the city but on highway with load problem re-appears. Thought it might be timing chain - any help appreciated.
