Replaced cv axles now there's a leak!

Ok so I replaced my left and right cv axles but now I have a leak behind the boot between the axle on the passengers side. I wentto an a le shop and they said it may be seals that are next to the chunk but will be serious labor to work on. Any thoughts?

How long have you had the problem? When you remove the shaft you will spill some gear oil in the axle tube. Its possible that the oil you're seeing is just some left over from the axle shaft swap. If its a lot of fluid coming out or is persistent leaking then I'd have the seals replaced. The seals can be damaged when re-installing the new shaft. To replace the seals you have to almost completely tear down the axle, removing the shafts and carrier.

I'll check the fluid by filling it up to the spill hole. Right before I got on here I was thinking maybe it spilled when I pulled the old shaffts out just as YHC said. I'll get back after I fill it up.

clean it up and see if it continues, the seals are pressed into the tube behind the carrier bearings. it can be a lot of work to do.
