Remove Timing Cover w/ Tensioner Attached?

Howdy,

I'm replacing the headgaskets on my 99 WJ 4.7. I'm having a hard time getting the drivebelt tensioner bolt to break loose.

Is it possible to remove the timing chain cover w/ the tensioner still on? I know it'll have to be off for installation to torque those timing cover bolts behind it.

Thanks!

I'll answer myself (for the record) ... impossible. a timing belt retaining bolt is directly behind tensioner. my bolt was badly stripped. after trying a few things, ended up cutting off bolt head w/ dremel and the tensioner assembly slid off.
