Rear diff. Problems

In my 1999 GC Limited 4.7 with Quadra-Drive I am have a banging issue coming from my rear end when turning.
Believe I may need to swap out the rear end. Also contributing to this is metel shavings in the differencial. I would appriecate any input as to what ratio I may have on this Jeep and what can I upgrade to or to remain at what is on the Jeep.

Thank You,
Brian in Coral Springs
