Rear cargo mat.

I need one as I always have work stuff back there. I have always went with husky for floor mats but I don't know I want to have that lip on the outer edge of the open area of the hatch. I'm just looking for opinions as to what you guys are using and happy with.

I use the Jeep one in both my WJ's, picked them up out of the local junkyard for $7 or $8 each since they consider it a floor mat.

It does have the lip around the perimeter, but the material is a bit thinner than the Husky or similar mats, so it bends easily.

His: '00 WJ 4.7 Limited- Some stuff

Hers: '03 WJ 4.7 Laredo- Some more stuff

I've scoured the junk yards local and there's nothing like that in any of them. I might just buy the huskys. The whether tech ones crack.

News to me.

Had my weather tech rear mat for 6 years and floor mats for 4. Zero issues.

I've seen them crack on the drivers side because there so stuff and with cold weather and stiff. I detailed vehicles for years.

The mats from Quadratec are very well made. I've had a set in my DubyaJay for four years now. Hose them off and they look brand new. Highly recommend them.

I like the lip on the husky stuff; I have their matts front, back, and cargo. Comes in handy when throwing snowy, wet, or sandy gear in the back or sitting with the same on your boots. If you don't like the lip from the open side of the tailgate just take a razor and take it down a little. Personally I'd still keep a little bit of a lip to keep fluids and gunk container but you could go flush if you wanted.

I use weather tech for all my cars, including the WJ. Can't tell you how many times the lip has saved my carpet: from a paint can that leaked, smashed eggs, motor oil.

even though I said I would get the weathertechs I just bought a full set from kolak. I figure I'll put them to the test and see how durable they are.

I made my own template with cardboard .....cut to like-OEM perfection, follows curves/shape of edges etc....from that template I cut/made a cargo floor mat out of diamondplate design (criss-cross) exercise floor mat ($24 for large roll....enough for two mats/spare), and carpet mat, and recently plywood ...with the plywood I have side 4' long x 6" verticle support plank with EMT clamps at each end for hooking adjustable bungee cords...so equipment/tool bag is strapped in against it ...not sliding around during turns. Very happy with all three....minimal investment and not hard to do.

**Pointer, if you decide to go this route: I just placed template on bottom/backside of black exercise mat and spray painted white paint around edges of template....quick and precise....then used ruler and utility knife/scissors to cut.....cut like butter.....came out so good my buddy thought it was manufactured/purchased.
