rear axle bearing kit?

Will this work for my Jeep? I have a Dana 44 rear axle.

No. That is for a D35. You actually have a D44a. That "a" is very important. It is very different from regular D44's.

I just found a site that says it is for both? Is that right?

Perhaps the bearing is used for both the 35 and 44a. Unfortunately I do not have my parts catalog on this computer otherwise I would confirm for you. Hopefully someone with experience with both can confirm, otherwise I will check as soon as I get home. I would hate for you to order it, have your jeep torn apart and then it not be the correct part.

I did just confirm with my parts catalog, the rear bearings are in fact the same between both axles.

The Timken set I typically order from Amazon or Rock Auto is known as the Set 9. The Set 9 comes with the bearing/attached race and the locking collar. You will need a new outer wheel seal too. And it is correct, they are the same for both the 35 and 44A.

Send me a PM if you'd like pricing for the bearing/seal/bearing retainer/seal retainer kit. I sell these all the time and use only genuine Spicer brand bearings which are made in the USA by Timken. So they are not imported Timken, just FYI.

I just got mine for the Dana 44a from Kolak (both sides). All Crown parts except the bearings, which as he states came in separate packaging made in USA. The price from Kolak was not significantly more than the price at Amazon, and I felt more comfortable going with Kolak. It's not 2 day shipping like Amazon (if you have Prime), but worth the wait knowing I'm getting what I need.
