quick question about a 242 vs 242hd case

ok, are the housings themselves the same? I'm asking for a friend who has a 242 case, and found a 242HD in a local yard for cheap, but the housing is cracked from the wreck. does anyone here know if the guts from the HD will swap into the regular 242 housing??

The case halves are the same. The HD has cone on the rear output. That is the only difference on the exterior of the cases, but it is a bolt on separate piece which will bolt onto the 242j.

I think the case back half is wider to accomodate for the wider HD chain.. I dont know for sure though
