Pinion seal leak question

I just bought my 04 WJ about two weeks ago and the front pinion seal is leaking. The previous owner said the whole front diff was rebuilt about 5 months ago and he hasn't put many miles on it since. I didn't think much of it and went to replace the seal about a week ago and couldn't get the yoke nut to break loose with a breaker bar so I figured I'd wait until I could use an impact. I've been thinking about it and it only leaks after its been driving. I can wipe it all off and let it sit for a few days and it doesn't drip a bit. Could the breather be clogged and causing it to leak as the pressure builds while driving? I just thought about this last night and haven't had time to mess with it yet. I wanted to see if anyone else has ran into this. I wouldn't think the seal failed in this short of time.
