Passenger Door Handle Hinge

Last week took the door panel off and reconnected the outside door rod to the hinge and it worked until I took it for a drive today. My 99 vibrates when idling and when I'm trying to come to a stop the whole car vibrates violently. Upon trying to open the door from the outside the rod is off the hinge again. I have no problem fixing this again but am starting to question if this will continue happening. Is there something i can put on the end of the rod that will keep it in the hinge as right now it's just the rod in the hole on the hinge. Will apoxy or gorilla glue work to hold it in? Any help would be great.

Is the rod coming out of the interior side door handle (the handle that comes out with the interior panel)? If yes, there should be a little retainer there that snaps over the rod - I'll see if I can dig up a photo.

Looks like ~$40 from Rock Auto for a new one including the handle and bezel

Or try a junk yard - I've had really good luck with JY parts.
