Wj P 0740 transmission code

Just the other day on the highway my jeep decided to turn on the check engine light.

Checked the odometer code, got a p 0700, so I took it to get the codes read and discovered its a p 0740 which is a torque converter lockup malfunction code. The ODB II meter also said it was an open circuit.

I have no huge symptoms other than the transmission not shifting all the way into overdrive sometimes, or taking a long time to shift into overdrive.

Transmission fluid level is good, and it doesn't smell burnt.

What are some easy things to check first?
