Opinion on this 1999 GC

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
- gray, 4x4, V6, auto, 148,xxx miles
- perfect gray cloth interior
- infinity sound system with Sirius radio hookup mounted on dash.
- CLEAN TITLE
- Asking $5200

Mechanic owned and driven, recent brakes, all fluids (including front and rear differentials), belts, etc.

Rear bumper has minor damage, but that looks to be the only blemish

Just curious how much you think this would be worth, and what I should look for when I test drive it... I previously owned a 92 XJ and have been looking for a 98-99 XJ, but I offered $3800 and he said if it doesn't get a bigger offer it's mine by the 20th. I don't know a whole lot about WJ's to be honest.

I'd look for a V8. Gas mileage won't be any different and you'll get more power with the 4.7.

Mine's a "Special Edition" which is essentially a Laredo with leather, V8, and paint matching cladding (no gray).

I know... copy and paste from his for sale ad.

So is $3800 still too high? KBB is like $4300... I know for a fact that his asking price was high

Mechanic owned, but he doesn't know the difference between an I6 and a V6

It's a good deal if you could get it for 3800.

mechanics treat there automobiles worse than anyone, they fix everyones stuff all day, so they never feel like making there own repairs or doing the maintenance on time

This guy is the second owner (I think) and recently traded a BMW for this, and has since put about 5k miles on it

Stay away from WJs with v6. Aliens probably abducted them.
