No start after replacing crankshaft position sensor

I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0. It was stalling sometimes at stoplights for 2 weeks and one day it ran like crap and and kept wanting to stall. It finally gave me the error code for crankshaft position sensor so I drove the truck into the garage and changed the part. Problem is now it won't stay running unless I keep my foot on the gas. I tried letting it run for 10 min and left the battery disconnected for 30 minutes but nothing! So frustrating! Anyone have a clue?
