New Front Bumper Design!!

Hey guys, I've been working on a new bumper in google sketckup and have come to a point where I need some input. It still has a little ways to go and I need a few final measurements so I can get a prototype built out of MDF.

A specific question I have is what do you think about the recessed light bar under the winch? I have a few ideas as to how I can mount it there and still get around the winch mounting bolts. Everything is to perfect scale. The light bar is a Rigid SR 10", the winch is based off a Warn m8000, and the LED circle lights are just some I found on amazon, just over 4" in diameter.

I also plan to do a radiator support, but not sure if I want to do one like the LSR Incline bumper or do something different.

I have spent many many hours on this getting everything to fit perfectly and keeping in mind about how it will all fit together. Let me know what you guys think!

I really wish someone would make a minimalist bumper. That one looks cool and all but it's just soo much bumper

I hope I can sell you one, one day! I would love to make a couple of these and test out the market to see if there is the demand. But its still in the design stages and that wont be happening anytime soon.

I like the look of a minimalist bumper too, but its just hard to incorporate a winch into it while keeping it small. You could do a hidden winch mount and then build a bumper to suit it then but I'm not interested in that. I personally like the the "fat lip" look. But thanks for you input!

That's a good looking bumper, the only thing I would do is make the D-ring tabs stick straight out.

My thoughts as well.
Still piddling with mine; maybe next month I'll have time to actually start building.

Make a copy of the file, then do some editing to the copy. I'd be curious to see what the bumper would look like if all of the hard edges were replaced with fillets to "smooth" out the bumper. The body on the WJ doesn't have any hard lines and every winch bumper that is made has nothing but hard edges.

Im concerned that the design does not protect the lower radiator. The stock lower bar that hangs down is very thin and easily damaged. The WJ needs some protection in this area.

You're right! That's why I said I'm working on a radiator support in the first post. And I have actually added that to it and also a small bull bar so I have another mounting option for lights. The tube used is 1.5" diameter.

And I just through these on real quick just to get a visual, so they are not exact.

I kinda like the edgey-ness of the hard lines of the bumper. But I also really like the smooth edges of the Iceland fiberglass bumper. I would have gone that route if I had gotten into modding my wj when they were still being produced. But I am hoping this way I can have a one-of-a-kind bumper (if I don't make multiple) and not drop a grand on one.

THIS.

HINT: If you want to sell some quickly, make it as close to the LSR bumper as possible. There are several people waiting for them to be manufactured again.

I had one on my WJ and would not get any other, period.

I know I am one of them!! And and that is what i based it off of, if I took the bull bar and light bar slot off it would be very very to similar the LSR bumper.
