Question Need transfer case explanation ASAP!

I'm hearing a grinding noise right by the passenger side of the transfer case like the one in the video below so I am thinking it was the chain. I pulled the case and found out that the chain has tension and is not scrapping the bottom. While looking it over and cleaning out the internal components I spun the input planetary gear(the one closest to the transmission) and it spins ok but it seems to make a slight grinding noise and has a slight wobble as it spins around. Since I have never taken these things apart I am not sure if this is normal gear noise, the gears appear ok from the outside but I haven't taken apart the input bearing and planetary gear assembly. Any ideas? Thanks

most like the the input shaft bearing. Fairly easy to replace, especially since you already have the case out.

How loose should the planetary gear be because I took it out and spun it and it was wobbling and making the noise by itself. I mean, I think those gears are hydraulic so when the fluid expands then so does it.

They're in s fluid bath, no hydraulic pressure to the input planetary.

So there shouldn't be any play in the gear?

Pull the planetary assembly, if there's play in any of the gears you need a new case. I don't think I've ever seen a planetary set for sale alone.

Yeah there was play in most of the gears. My WJ does have 183k miles on it so it makes sense... I ordered a case from a junkyard that was in perfect working condition. Hope this will solve my problem.
