Need help buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have been looking for something for winter for awhile and I really like Jeeps. I have a couple options..

Option A.
99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
V8 150,000 miles
New front driveshaft
New Heater core
New Brakes
New tires
New AC
$5500, It is owned by a Mechanic

Option B
99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
V8 136,000
Has been sitting two years
New tires.

Both have front Driver seat damage to the leather. Another question, do the V8s make a lot of engine noise?

Should I get one of these or should I keep looking?

Skip the one that has been sitting unless they knock a zero off the price. Cars that have been sitting have a tendency to be a nightmare waiting to happen. Been down that road. Both of those seem a little high priced for 1999 models.

WJs aren't hard to come by, so don't settle just to make a quick purchase. Be sure to read the buyer's guide at the top of the forum.

...also the V8s are not mechanically that noisey. In my experience NEVER buy a car from a mechanic..... they work on cars all week so come the weekend the last thing they feel like is working on there own! It's like builders houses always being in a bad state of repair for the same reason!
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got yourself an electrical problem!

Those prices seem a little high for a 1999 with that many miles. I only paid $6,500 for my 2004 with 89,000 miles.

Here's a couple near you. They are a little on the old side as par as posting date, but it gives you an idea.
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you.
