mystery part

i have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo 6 cylineder 4 wheel drive all the time i looked to check out of my tranny and i noticed that there was this part blocking the pan that u have to move the pan in side ways to get it back up so can anyone help- me on what part that is i looked all over the internet and i cannot seems to find what thAT PART IS CALLED OR WHAT IT DOES

Possible exhaust hanger.

Ill bet its the flux capacitor. Seriously though, Ive dropped my tranny pan many many times and have never had to turn it sideways. Theres nothing there and no skid plates extend over the tranny pan.

I dread taking out my tranny pan cuz I've gotta move the jigglemcbobber support to access the gobbledygook skid plate then I can finally pry out the pan
