Well i haven't really looked at the hatch aspect much, was thinking just a big T-bolt.
I got my a to z hinge on ebay and offered 40$ so w/shipping was < 50.
the spindle shank is ~ 1.25"
castle nut on top is 1"
spindle length is just about 9"
outer sleeve to contain bearings - i left at the shop but i believe was > 2"

It's a Jeep, it's not supposed to work right all the time.

so i did a little work on the swing arm today
I cut notches in the 2x4 with a band saw and it gave me the offset i need.
I also spent 0$ on my latch and its quick and easy. i used a 1/2 thick rod and bent an L on the end.
Once i get everything completed i will edit my first post and give a bill of materials and tips

heres some pictures ( you will notice how much better JCDRILLER did on the bumper cuts, i think ill be fiber glassing mine to keep it sleek, but i may leave it and consider a steel bumper down the road)

I really like the way this has turned out and have been wanting something similar for some time now. I wish you or someone would make a kit for sale. Great work...
