My 247 tc was just the same when I bought it.....was so hard to move I thought I was going to snap the lever off! Two years later and at least going into 4lo once a month it moves sweet as you like. They have just got to be used.

they only made somewhere between 20 and 30k of them over all the later year models. a very small fraction of all wj's.
it's almost completely unheard of in a limited. to the point of this thread being the only mention of one built that way from the factory.

Explains why the tcase selector needs two hands and a lot of body weight to move, and the part time light on the dash hardly ever works right (probably was left in 2WD almost exclusively and I am told the part time sensor needs some moving about to lubricate it otherwise it gets stuck). The engine had also been replaced--perhaps due to excessively heavy towing? Who knows...
There's a part time light that comes on? My t-case works fine, and haven't had a light that comes on. Where is the part time sensor located? and is it easy to change out if needs to be?

AllData is a program shops can subscribe to which is pretty much a Haynes repair manual for every car from '88 and up. I "borrowed" a copy from my school back in a day, so mine only goes up to '08. And it takes up about 120GB of space, so don't expect to be downloading it anywhere lol.

I love that white with the black wheels. Very sharp. Do you have some more pictures of that factory sub?
