My new 01 Limited
3 Attachment(s)
I just purchased an 01 WJ Limited 4.7 4x4. I had a 2000 Laredo 4.0 4x2 and I really loved the thing and decided its time for a 4x4. I got the car on Saturday and I love it, already tackled my first hill. Nothing crazy but for me it was enough. I want to do a few things to her like flowmasters and HIDs. I will probably have alot of questions so Ill try to post them in this thread instead of making new ones over and over.

Nice color. Great selection

you need some new badges.... i don't know why they all fall apart so bad

straty1987 10-05-2010 05:58 PM

welcome jeep looks good. is it lifted?

if you want HID's get projection headlight off ebay, the ones that look just like stock and have 3 leds were the parking light would be

Thanks, I love the color too. And I know the badges in front are goners. I still have a 2000 that's practicaly dead. How would I take the JEEP lettering from the hood of that and place it on this thing?

I have alot of questions so ill try to trickel them in instead of bombarding you guys with questions. So besides the lettering, I wanna talk about exhaust. I want the Flowmaster Super 44s, but i dont know the first thing about this stuff. I was looking at getting just the muffler because I cant really afford all new pipes. Is this stupid to do? If not im going for the muffler. Is there a certain size super 44 out there for this Jeep and how much should I expect to pay for the part/installation?

Nope not lifted. I might do a BB lift until MAYBE one day I can get a proper setup. Whats the max lift with BB and can i get the Wobble of Death on a BB lift?

compcrasher86 10-05-2010 06:53 PM

The WJs are much better resisting death wobble than the earlier Jeep counterparts. Its petty rare to get death wobble from a 2" bb. You really shouldnt run a coil spacer lift over 2" anyways, at that rate you just get new springs. As with every lift, you always should get an allignment afterwards. Love the Jeep and I love that color. Have fun with the v8 :D

i'd bet that has the upcountry package, i see hooks and what appears to be a skid plate......

with a bb, you'll be at 3" not 2"

I thought it look like a UC too.

compcrasher86 10-05-2010 09:05 PM

And quadradrive, I see the badge under the Jeep logo. You lucked out bud, Limited v8 with upcountry and quadradrive is probably one of the best and rarest configurations out there, especially if its not an overland!

straty1987 10-05-2010 09:12 PM

he dose not have black cladding so it might be a limited and a late 01 making it a 02. but teh wheel are from a 01 as the 4x4.
orginal buyer could of added things Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ - Differences 2001 vs 2002

best thing to do is ask the person you bought it form what they added to it and request a build sheet form jeep

Before I bought my Overland I found an 02 Limited 4.7HO/QD in that very same color, same wheels, that was $2k less than the Overland I ended up buying. I like my Overland, but that Limited was a great rig for a great price. Congrats on your purchase!

Yes, tow hooks were also a mopar add-on. On limiteds and overlands it was standard to have chrome tow hooks if you got upcountry, OP has chrome... Chrome hooks were more expensive so if they were added to serve a purpose the chances are lower that the previous owner opted for chrome... maybe... just trying to further the upountry theory ;)

compcrasher86 10-05-2010 10:17 PM

yeah if they havent been fixed yet, get ready for it ;)

Dont go to the dealer instead do heatertreater or blendoor for under $200 ;)

The time now is 10:14 PM.
