depends how many amps the lights draw, and if you have everything running i.e. all "8 lights" or you can switch between which ones are on and off

Why would you possibly need so much light?

And a few corrections to your profile:
You have a 42re transmission, the NP242 is your transfer case(not PN242),
Your front axle is a Dana 30
Your rear axle is either a Dana 35 (most probable) or a Dana 44a (with the towing package), the dana 42 never existed

well figure that you are operatating at about 13.5-14.5 volts when the car is running. so that is 8.97 to 9.63 amps per lamp at those voltages.

If you're crawling on a trail, with all that and your stock lights running. You'll be drawing down the battery as your alt will never keep up.

Work on light placement and aiming. I can't think of any reason to have that many pencil beams and floods/fogs on at once.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.

right now you have 4 lights
130 watt * 4= 520 watt
50watt / 12v = 43.33 amps

want to
130 watt * 8= 1040 watt
50watt / 12v = 86.67 amps

the stock WJ alternator is 136 amps i believe

might want to consider your needs and build around that. dont want to kill your battery or start a fire. like mix in fog and driver lights so you can get distance and better lights around you.

if your going to do 4 130 watts light on the roof consider doing 4 55watt lights. 2 driver lights (pencil beam) for distance and 2 fog lights to get a better view on your sides.

if you have any pics i like to see the 4 130 lights your running.

Tip get the BIGGEST battery you can get to fit in your Battery Tray.

i have 6x130W KC Long range lights.

if i turn them on at idle you can hear the jeep idle up for moar power to the battery and watch the battery gauge move a little unless your driving.

i have a 1200cca battery

The key is using the right lights (beam pattern) and getting them aimed well, as well as making sure your headlights are working well. You'll get more from your headlights + 2 lights that put the light where you need it than you will from 10 lights that put it somewhere else.

Amen to that

True right now i have the 2 middle ones pointed barely out but mostly forward and the outside 2 are pointed inward so the make a big X so they cross far away but also give a lot of light forward too.
