Look into the oil pump and tube before throwing terms out like "new engine." Start small in diagnosis.

Well I changed to oil to 5w-30 and it's normal for now. Do you think my oil pressure was low because I used 10w-30 instead of 5w-30? Cause I was reading that you have to use 5w-30 on the 4.7

It shouldn't make that much difference, in fact most 10W-30s are slightly thicker at operating temp than 5W-30. This would give higher oil pressure than the thinner oil. Is it possible you were just low on oil and starving the pickup?

Hmmmm.... That might explain why there wasn't that much oil when I changed it. Wouldn't the oil light be on though if it was low on oil

Not to sound funny but you changed the engine 8 months ago and your not checking the oil level so much so that when you do an oil change not much comes out..... give the new motor a chance and check the dipstick level occasionally and top it up!!

Yes, keep an eye on your oil level. As stated above the 10w30 should have created slightly higher pressures, not less, but it sounds like you were really low that certainly could have been the problem. Don't do that again no matter what you have in it.

The oil pressure warning is not an oil level sensor. At least you noticed that you had low oil pressure, but it seems like you are on the way to buying yourself another engine. Start paying attention to your Jeep!
